Of course, the most magnificent part of the site is Madame Sherri's staircase, which remains safe and sound after the home that it was attached to was destroyed.
Looking around the property it is easy to be transported into the past, to the time when Madame Antoinette Sherri hosted lavish parties in her very own castle.
The "castle" was built in 1931, and became Madame Sherri's summer retreat, a place famous for lavish parties.
However, the home was destroyed in 1962 by a fire.
However, the Chesterfield Conservation Committee purchased the land and nearly 500 acres surrounding it, which now provides a great place to explore.
The ruins of the property are still sound and great for exploring safely.
There is even information posted about the history of Madame Sherri and her amazing home.
Plus, the surrounding area is a gorgeous place for a hike. Madame Sherri forest is located off Gulf Road in Chesterfield.
