1. Be careful where you park your truck in Brandon. A city law says it’s illegal to prevent someone from walking down the street by placing a truck in their way.

2. Want to hold office in Mississippi? Well, according to the law, you can’t do so if you’re an atheist.

3. In Ridgeland, it’s illegal for a home to have exterior burglar bars that are visible from the street. Those violating this law face up to a $1,000 fine.

In case you’re wondering, interior bars are permitted.

4. Attending an Ole Miss game in Oxford? Better be cautious when cheering because the city has a law on the books that says it is “illegal to cheer unless there’s a reason to.”

5. In Oxford, anyone who drives around the Square more than 100 times in one session is in violation of the law.

6. According to Mississippi law, drugstores in the state are not allowed to sell poison to children.

7. The state law says that it’s illegal to sell the meat of a cat for food.
