Massachusetts Is One Of The Safest Places In The U.S. To Live

This year, World Atlas made their list for the top ten safest states in America to live in. Any guesses as to which state was named the safest? Deep down you already know the answer, Massachusetts!

Broken down by various things such as overall crime and violence rates, road safety and community stability, the Bay State has come out on top!

World Atlas points out that not only is our state safe, it's absolutely beautiful as well. Our endless miles of coastline help keep us known as one of America's most stunning states.

One of the reasons our state manages to stay so beautiful? We make an effort to maintain our environmental programs that make sure our ocean shores and rivers aren't filled with chemicals and trash.

One of the categories our state scored especially well in? Our road safety ratings.

Massachusetts was ranked second in terms of the fewest number of fatalities per 100 million vehicles of traffic. Not too shabby!

Another thing that got us to the top of the list? Our low crime rates.

Between both our cities and our towns, Massachusetts has some of America's lowest crime rates. We're fortunate to live in such a safe state!

Overall, the research showed that out of all regions to live in America, New England is the safest.

All six states that make up the New England region found their way into the Top 10 list of safest states to live in. Quite impressive, huh? Generally speaking, New England's urban and rural areas have low crime rates.

Another contributing factor to the overall safeness? The fact that this region isn't typically prone to being the target of natural disasters.
