On Jan. 27, 2015, the Bay State experienced its largest one-day snowfall ever.

In a single 24-hour period, Worcester County was hit with an incredible 31.9 inches of snow. That’s about two-and-a-half feet.

Before that, the largest single-day snowfall was recorded in 1978.

The 2015 snowfall was the heaviest in almost 40 years.

Officially, the snowstorm was known as the January 2015 North American Blizzard.

You might remember it by its more-common moniker: Winter Storm Juno.

The blizzard impacted large parts of New England and dumped many feet of snow in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and New York.

Businesses across the Bay State closed their doors and school was canceled across the state.

Bread and canned goods disappeared off of supermarket shelves as residents braced for the storm.

After the dust cleared, locals began the hard work of clearing off cars that were buried up to their roofs.

In some places, mailboxes and street signs completely vanished under mountains of the white stuff. More than 800 tons of salt were used in Fall River alone!

Though the state eventually recovered from this massive snowfall, it will be an event that will live on in the record books for years to come. Do you remember where you were during Winter Storm Juno, a devastating winter storm in Massachusetts?
