The Breathtaking Mansion In Massachusetts You Must Visit This Fall

We all know that Massachusetts is a state that's full of historical sites no matter what city or town you find yourself in. And there are certain famous mansions in MA that have an almost hauntingly beautiful look throughout the year. One historic mansion in Massachusetts is quite a place to visit year-round, but it is absolutely exquisite in the fall. Welcome to The Mount in Lenox, MA, the mansion where a famous author once resided.

A National Historic Landmark, The Mount was once the home of author Edith Wharton. It was here at the Mount in Lenox, MA that she wrote two of her most famous works, The House of Mirth and Ethan Frome.

Wharton is one of my favorite authors, so a trip here was an absolute must!

Wharton also played a pivotal role in the design of The Mount, which was built in 1902. Aside from the palatial mansion, there is a stable, a greenhouse, and gorgeous gardens on the property.

The author lived here a mere ten years, but it was during those years that her career really took off. Today, this famous mansion in MA has been transformed into a house museum as well as a cultural center where you can learn more about Wharton's life when you visit.

While it's worthwhile to visit The Mount any time of year, it's really quite spectacular in the fall. Surrounded by the Berkshires, The Mount tours will allow you to see the best of the fall colors here.

Stroll the grounds and take in all the colorful hues of the fall foliage. The Edith Wharton mansion in Lenox MA is quite a stunning place to be. It's great if you are a fan of her work, but even without that, you'll be dazzled by the grounds themselves. I could have walked the gardens for hours and hours....And maybe I even did!
