This Is The Most Maryland Sound You’ll Ever Hear, And We Can’t Stop Listening To It

There are so many things to cherish about living in Maryland. At the top of the list is the state's natural beauty, and there's simply no shortage of it. From the stunning Eastern Shore to the gentle mountains and everywhere in between, Maryland is a naturalist's paradise. If you're someone who seeks nature, you'll agree that birdsong is a big part of what makes our landscape so special. And we've found a recording of the most common birds in the Old Line State and we simply can't stop listening to it. See if you agree!

Maryland is beautiful year-round, but there's something about the warm weather that brings about a whole different level of appreciation.

Especially when the flowers bloom and the songbirds sing their lovely tunes.

In fact, we'd argue that certain bird calls just sound so Maryland in a way that evokes a deep sense of pride and nostalgia. From the Northern Cardinal...

...to the American Robin...

... the Eastern Bluebird, and many more, there's no shortage of beautiful music that comes from these lovely birds.

In fact, studies have shown that hearing birds has a calming effect on the nervous system. And it's hard to argue with that!

You can listen to the beautiful Maryland birds below, many of which were recorded in Central Maryland, though they are present in other parts of the state, and country, as well.
