12 Undeniable Ways You Know You’re From The State Of Maine

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I venture outside of Maine I am reminded that we live in a very special place. We Maineiacs are a special breed and it's never more apparent then when I am at an airport and everyone headed to Maine has at least one piece of clothing with an L.L. Bean logo. This is when my heart swells with pride. There's also some significant pride when I'm asked some hilariously ridiculous questions about snow and moose. Here are some other undeniable ways you know you're from the state of Maine. Not that we need any actual reminders. Read these and share the list with your friends who live elsewhere to see if they agree.

Special thanks to Maine Memes who provided a few of the more hilarious pictures.

1. You know that Moxie is a thing you drink, not just a personality trait.

2. This was you on your way to work during one of last year's blizzards.

Because it's just a little bit of snow.

3. Obviously you've got Bean Boots, but yours also have crampons for that blizzard commute.

4. A typical meal might include a red snapper dog with chips.

5. You know you are an Olympian at heart.

6. You think Southin' Maine is really just Northern Mass.

And have found yourself in an argument with someone from Portland about it.

7. You're not entirely sure how to pronounce these words.

What does it mean? They close at 10? 11?

8. You know that a lobster pot isn't something you cook a lobster in.

Fun Activity: Next time your friends from away come up and mention a "lobster pot" in reference to cooking, bring them one of these.

9. It's completely acceptable to furnish your entire living room with things you picked up at the dump in perfect condition.

And you always tend to come back with more than you brought.

10. Nothing brings on a wicked rage like a Masshole driver.

11. You've used your license plate to convey the way you feel most of the time.

...Or, you've used your it to help your kids find you in a crowd.

...Or, to get out of a conversation quickly.

12. And speaking of cars, when you see a Maine license plate you always look inside to see if you know the driver.

No matter WHERE you are.

Okay, your turn! What are some things that make you a true Maineiac?
