1) Iko Iko, performed by The Dixie Cups

This song was originally written and performed by Sugar Boy and the Cane Cutters, but became an international hit by The Dixie Cups in 1965.
2) Jole Blon, traditional
This traditional Cajun tune is sometimes called "the Cajun national anthem" and the earliest known recording is believed to be this one by the Breaux Brothers in 1929.
3) Tell It Like It Is, Aaron Neville
First big hit of this legendary musician’s career, whose talented family includes his son Ivan Neville and his brother Cyril Neville.
4) The House of the Rising Sun, traditional folk song
The earliest recording of this song was by Appalachian artists Clarence "Tom" Ashley and Gwen Foster, who recorded it for Vocalion Records in 1934.
5) You Are My Sunshine, Jimmie Davis

This song was recorded by Jimmie Davis in 1940 and 5 years later he became governor of the state. He was later inducted into the country music hall of fame.

Recorded in 1974, this song tells the story of the great flood of 1927.

This song was written by Eddie DeLange and Louis Alter and first performed by this duo in 1947.
8) Jambalaya by Hank Williams, Sr.
Crawfish pie and file gumbo..this song was recorded in 1953 and stayed on the top of the country charts for 14 weeks!
9) Amos Moses by Jerry Reed
This song tells the story of a cajun alligator hunter outside of Thibodaux, LA.
10) Louisiana Man, Lucinda Williams
Lucinda's prolific career has included numerous songs about her home state, but this early recording captures her country roots.
11) Walking to New Orleans by Fats Domino
This song was written for Fats Domino by Bobby Charles in 1960.
