8 Reasons We Are Thankful For Living In Alaska

Living in Alaska comes with its ups and downs, but the highs are so great, it’s easy to love residing in our stunning state. I’m sure many of you are already thankful to live in the beautiful state that you do, but there are times during the year that Alaskans are extra thankful for everything they are surrounded with. As Alaskans, let's all share what we are thankful for, from where we live to what life brings us!

1) Let's start off with the obvious... friends and family! Life in Alaska is just a little bit better surrounded by people that you love.

2) How about those people that keep our community and country safe? We are grateful for all that they do for us out here in the Last Frontier!

3) Every day I am thankful for the unique sunrise and sunset that only us Alaskans get to enjoy.

4) Some of the most gorgeous vistas exist in Alaska, it's hard not to be thankful for that! This is one the most popular reasons to live in Alaska, and it’s not hard to see why.

5) The ability to get away from it all. If you want to know what it’s like to live in Alaska, then imagine only have to drive 10 minutes to the wilderness! It’s a spectacular feeling.

6) Those local mom & pop shops deserve a nod. They work hard and do a great job! It’s so important for Alaskans to support local, especially when shipping takes so long and costs so much.

7) The history and culture in this beautiful state. The traditions and cultural ways of life of our Alaska Natives is an incredible thing to behold. We are so lucky to live in such a unique and multicultural state.

8) Finally, blue tarps & duct tape, without you we cannot survive the year. Because truly, just about anything in Alaska can be fixed with a tarp and duct tape!
