The Observatory Campground In Southern California With Epic Stargaziing

Looking for a unique campground in Southern California where you can spend the night in the great outdoors and experience a superb night of stargazing? Tucked inside one of SoCal’s most treasured forests where the night sky is nice and dark, this epic campground is a must for any overnighter interested in taking in a fantastic view of the stars.

Tucked inside Palomar Mountain State Park you'll find the Observatory Campground, a unique place to spend the night in the great outdoors. More than just a campground, this is also an epic place for some of the best stargazing in SoCal.

The campground is comprised of 42 campsites in total. Although advance reservations are required for most of the sites, there are 10 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This is great news for those of you who prefer being more spontaneous when it comes to a night or weekend of camping.

You'll find all the comforts of home at the Observatory Campground including hot showers, picnic tables, and restrooms. Although you're camping out in the wilderness, you won't have to rough it when you spend the night here.

Although the amenities are nice, you'll also be drawn to the abundance of hiking trails that can be found at the Observatory Campground. With over five miles of trails, this local campground is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise.

But the real magic here is the night sky that provides a perfect view of the stars. Known for epic stargazing, the Observatory Campground is surrounded by dark and clear skies that create a perfect setting for viewing stars.

In addition to being a great camping spot with an epic night sky, it's also only a five minute drive from Palomar Observatory for those who want to take stargazing to a whole new level.

But we're happy to stay right here at our campsite and look up at the night sky in the comfort of our tent. It's the perfect way to enjoy a little stargazing without straying far from home.
