Lake Morena County Park is a camping and fishing park situated southwest of the Laguna Mountains. Due to its unique location, the park bears the combined characteristics of a mountain, desert, and coastal region. Experts find the landscape interesting, but for most visitors, it is the place to live out their angler and camper dreams.

The park consists of a lake that sits at an elevation of 3,000 feet and features various amenities. They include a playground, day-use picnic areas, eight miles of multi-use trails, track trails for children, campsites, wilderness cabins, and corporate meeting space.

If you are a camper, you will be happy to know that Lake Morena County Park offers 86 campsites and group sites, RV sites, and cabins. You will have to bring drinking water, though, as the county recently issued a temporary Boil Water Order for the park.

Lake Morena is regularly stocked with a variety of freshwater fish, so fishing should not be a problem. You will only need a state-issued fishing permit and pay the county-issued permit fees for fishing. It is priced from $2 to $7, depending on your age.

Boat rentals are available if you do not have a watercraft. For fishing or touring the lake, you can rent a motorboat for $30 per day on weekdays or a rowboat for $15 for half a day. Note that swimming, waterskiing, and direct body contact with the water are prohibited.
