Part of the clarity does come from the water, but regulations such as no campfires, glass containers, or smoking also contribute. Alcohol is also limited to the camping areas to help ensure the containers never end up in the water.
Fishing is a popular activity out here on the water, and though trout are catch-and-take only, you can get a good-sized catfish or bass on your hook if you're lucky.
