Visiting This One Forest In South Dakota Is Like Experiencing A Dream
In the extreme northeast corner of South Dakota, there is a state park with a forest that has an almost mystical feeling to it. Taking a hike through this place will almost make you feel like you are in a different dimension. The quietness of it as well as the surrounding, dense trees will completely cut you off from the outside, allowing you to fully immerse yourself. It is really a one of a kind experience. But there is more to this park than meets the eye…

Despite the dark past this forest may possess, this place is truly lovely in person, and fall is the best time of the year to visit it. If you want to check out some of the other best stops for fall viewing in this state, click here for our South Dakota Fall Foliage Road Trip.
Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
