This South Dakota Christmas Town Is Straight Out Of A Norman Rockwell Painting
Is there anything more Americana than a cheery Norman Rockwell painting? Actually, there is: a real-life, picturesque Christmas town that looks like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting! To experience this pretty-as-a-picture community for yourself, make plans to visit this beautiful Christmas town in South Dakota:
Welcome to Watertown, South Dakota, one of the most lovely Christmas towns in the Midwest!
Located in northeast SoDak, Watertown is home to nearly 23,000 residents who pull out all the stops each year to turn the town into a Winter Wonderland (literally).
As they do each year, the Watertown Optimist Club transforms the Stokes Thomas Lake City Park into a regular Winter Wonderland, complete with tens of thousands of lights and festive displays.
In addition to the beloved Winter Wonderland, Watertown is also home to an enchanting Holiday Lighted Parade that serves as the kick-off for another exciting holiday season.
Is anyone else getting major Norman Rockwell vibes from this picture?
To make the season even brighter, the community also hosts Christmas markets, shows and live entertainment, breakfast with Santa, and more!
You can find the full (and we mean really FULL) calendar of upcoming holiday events on the Watertown Chamber of Commerce's website!
