This Eclectic Garage Restaurant In South Carolina Is Such A Fun Place To Dine

Not many restaurants in South Carolina (only one, in fact) can boast of having a front door sheathed entirely in alligator skin. Or of being given a nostalgic name eerily familiar to those baby boomers who came up through the ranks into adulthood in an era when a not-so-small cab company saw to their safe, albeit drunken, return home after a raucous night on the town.

But you don't need to know the history of the name of the Rutledge Cab Company to enjoy this eclectic restaurant in Charleston's trendy Wagener Terrace neighborhood on the upper peninsula.

The eatery is located in an old convenience store and gas station that's transformed into an artfully crafted space mingled with signs of the past.

Once inside, you'll find pleasant reminders of the old Rutledge Cab Company. Nostalgic images line the walls, and a car door from an old cab hangs over the hostess station.

On the menu, and soon on your table, is a wide variety of delectable items from which to choose.

Each and every one is as artfully crafted as the venue itself — and generous portions pretty much guarantee you won't be leaving hungry!

Lowcountry favorites and an occasion cajun influence round out the dining experience.

Rutledge Cab Company's come-as-you-are and be-who-you-are atmosphere is just the sort of place we'd expect from Charleston's beloved famous comedian/actor/director and all-around funny guy to bring to the table. (We mean Bill Murray, of course!)
