Dubbed a "destination restaurant," Mill Pond Steak House is more than just a destination. It's history, fine dining, amazing views, great service and a location that's so remote you'll feel a million miles away from everything.

Boykin sort of is "a million miles away" from everything. But we mean that in a metaphoric sense. Of course it's not "a million" miles away. It's actually only about nine miles south of Camden. But it is remote.

This wonderful old restaurant occupies a group of buildings that at one point housed the community post office and general store for the Boykin Mill, located next door.

A couple hundred years ago Swift Creek was dammed up to create the historic 300-acre pond behind the steakhouse.

Then, so history says, there was a strategic Union and Confederate standoff on this site. The word is, the Confederate stronghold was right under the middle of the main dining room in the Mill Pond Steak House. That's extraordinary info to have as you savor the best steak of your life here at Mill Pond.

Without a doubt, you'll be making some "history" of your own in this extraordinary eatery.

Widely known for their amazing aged angus beef (steaks), Mill Pond has a significantly diverse menu based on surf and turf entrees.

With the gorgeous dining rooms, amazing food and outstanding views, Mill Pond is one of those meals you'll be talking about for ages. A big part of those stories you'll tell will be about how REMOTE this place is - and how it was totally worth it to get here.

Reservations are seriously recommended, especially since it can take a while to get all the way to Boykin. Also recommended, but not required, at least business casual attire. More Information here. Mill Pond is open only for dinner and only Tuesday - Saturday nights. One more piece of info you'll be glad you have: the address. Google lists it as Rembert, SC so you'll need that address for your GPS. Here is it: 84 State Rd S-28-2, Rembert, SC 29128.

BONUS: Arrive early enough to gawk at Swift Creek Baptist Church. It was built as early as 1787, although some reports say it was built in 1827. Either way, it's incredible! You'll easily find it just a few hundred yards on the left past Mill Pond Steak House. Enjoy!
