Aside from being the location for the filming of the movie, Paradise, McClellanville is a quiet, small fishing village full of charm and beauty… and famous for its fresh shrimp! And there is no better place to enjoy this and other fresh seafood right off the dock than T. W. Graham & Company, a one-of-a-kind seafood restaurant in McClellanville, South Carolina.
T. W. Graham & Company first opened in 1894 as a mercantile store, supplying groceries and other goods to the McClellanville community.
There's an article located inside that tells the Graham family's story.
It since has become known for serving some of the best, freshest seafood possible.
As a small historic fishing town located just off Highway 17, some guests stop by McClellanville to eat here on the way to Myrtle Beach. The restaurant itself is on Pinckney Street.
There aren't many places where you can eat seafood straight from the dock ... it doesn't get any fresher or better than that!
This day's catch was fresh local Mahi and Pink Snapper.
Have you ever eaten soft shell crab? They're eaten whole, 'shell' and all, after the exoskeleton has molted. The shell is quite pliable, and the meat inside is incredibly sweet, juicy, and bursting with pure crab flavor.
The flounder is a favorite of guests and can be ordered fried or grilled. Whether you choose a seafood plate ...
... a salad ...
... a sandwich, or something else, you really can't go wrong. There are burgers and chicken sandwiches available for those who may not want or cannot eat seafood.
The atmosphere inside is rustic and very casual.
And you may feel at times as though you have just stepped into another era.
There's a gift shop area where you may like to get yourself a souvenir. It's more than just a place to eat some seafood ... it's an experience that you'll find yourself wanting to return back to again soon.
