These 10 Restaurants in South Carolina Have Fries So Good You Can’t Handle It
They are just fried potatoes. But sometimes its how they’re cut, what they’re fried
in, or what you pile on top of them that makes them extra special.
Here are some places in South Carolina that really know how to make great fries.
1. DUCK FAT FRIES - The Tattooed Moose - Charleston, SC
Nothing beats the Duck Fat Fries at The Tattooed Moose in Charleston. Get them served with a side of garlic aioli or try the Duck Fries with Duck Gravy. Ever have potatoes cooked in duck fat??

2. BEER BATTER FRIES - The Seacow Eatery - Edisto Beach, SC
The Beer Batter Fries at The Seacow on Edisto Beach are out of this world. But then, the rest of the menu is also extraordinary. A warning though, people go for breakfast and then come back the next day for lunch and the next for dinner. But that's a good warning.
Location: 145 Jungle Road - Edisto Beach, SC 29438
3. SWEET POTATO FRIES - The Smokin' Pig BBQ - Pendleton, SC
Try The Smokin' Pig's Sweet Potato Fries with their raved-about rack of ribs and you'll be coming back for more (like everyone else). But make a personal note, they're only open Thurs - Sat, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Location: 6630 US 76N - Pendleton, SC 29670
4. FRESH HANDCUT PEANUT OIL FRIES - Five Guys - 29 locations in SC
Yes, I am aware this is a franchise. But...they're just so gooooooood! There are no freezers in any Five Guys location. Everything is fresh, including the fries. But that's immediately evident as you enter some of the smaller locations and find the path to the ordering counter is lined with huge bags of just-delivered potatoes. They're cut fresh daily and cooked in 100% peanut oil. It's all I can do to keep from
leaving now to go get some!
5. TRUFFLE FRIES - The Green Room - Greenville, SC
Truffle Fries paired with The Green Room's French Dip Sandwich are perfect for a chilly day!
Location: 116 N Main St, Greenville, SC 29601
