Who knew there is an abandoned recreational park decaying in the woods in South Carolina? Springs Recreation Park was built near Lancaster in the 1920s and closed in the summer of 1989. Generations of families spent their childhoods making memories at the popular park that not only boasted a giant swimming pool with stadium seating, but also a ferris wheel, a bowling alley, a skating rink, miniature golf course and several other amusement rides, including a train.

Since the park shuttered in 1989 it’s slowing being reclaimed by Mother Nature. Check out this staggering drone video of the swimming pool that was once filled with the cries of laughter and is now filled with graffiti. The video is from Vimeo user Keith Kunstmann.

Who remembers Springs Park? And what are your fondest memories from here?
