Known as "the birthplace of conservation on Block Island," Rodman's Hollow is an outwash glacial basin that spans 230 acres. Within that acreage is a variety of plant life and birds.
When it comes to birds, Rodman's Hollow is best known for its resident northern harrier. You might even catch this beautiful bird eating or in a nest while at this Rhode Island nature preserve.
The best way to explore the nature preserve is on the nearly one-mile Rodman's Hollow Trail. While it's rated moderate, some hikers describe it as a walk through the woods that the kids can do. The trail is also dog-friendly if your dog remains leashed.
