Enjoy A Guided Boat Nature Tour And Explore A Lesser-Known Side To Newport, Rhode Island
Living in Rhode Island usually goes hand-in-hand with a natural love of the water. We spend as much time as we can on, in, and near it all year round. Life near the water means adventures galore, including a guided boat tour in Rhode Island that will give you a peek at some of the most adorable seasonal residents of Narragansett Bay.
While you’ll find plenty of ways to explore Narragansett Bay, few will likely make you squeal with delight like this Seal Watch Tour in Newport.
Hosted by Save the Bay, Narragansett Bay, in Newport, the family-friendly tours are held annually from December through April, the only time of the year the migratory harbor seals are in the area.
The tour lasts approximately an hour and is led by an experienced guide, who will provide insight into local wildlife, including migratory harbor seals and where they go when spring rolls around.
Bundle up for your boat tour, which will take you through Newport Harbor and to Citing Rock, to ooh and ahh at the sight of the relaxing seals. Look in the water, too. You might just see a few seals swim by.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and tours are offered frequently throughout the week. On the day of your tour, head to Bowen’s Ferry Landing at 30 Market Square to board the boat.
When you buy your ticket, you must fill out an online waiver. That waiver must be completed before you board for your tour.
