If you're feeling run-down or sluggish, a quick burst of fresh air will help you to feel refreshed so you can refocus. One of our favorite trails in Rhode Island is the Melville Park Blue Trail. Read on to find out why we love this trail so much.
Melville Park Blue Trail is located near Portsmouth, Rhode Island. It is a lightly trafficked loop trail that spans just under a mile, making it the perfect walk to take during your lunch break.
The trail is made of up different terrain including forest floor, grass, and pavement. There are also man-made bridges extending over running water so guests can travel safely across to the other side.
Melville Park Blue Trail is loaded with beautiful scenery in such a short loop. On the trail, you can see and experience beautiful ocean views from an old railroad track.
There are also small waterfalls and brooks running alongside the wooded trail.
If you're lucky enough to be there on a sunny day, there are multiple points along the trail where you can stop and have a bite or just take in the peace and quiet of nature.
The best time to go for a hike on Melville Park Blue Trail is between the months of May and September. Plus, if you're interested in spending a little more time in this area, Melville Pond Nature Preserve has four other trails to explore.
