One Of The Best Restaurants In Rhode Island Is Tucked Away In A Majestic Castle

Castle Hill Newport offers an elegant dining experience with breathtaking views and a six-course tasting menu.

So much of Rhode Island -- from its lush woods to its ocean shores -- conjures images of old-fashioned fairy tales. It comes as little surprise, then, that you'll feel as though you've stepped into one of those storybooks from long ago when you dine at this Rhode Island restaurant that's tucked in a majestic castle. It promises an elegant, one-of-a-kind culinary experience you'll want to try at least once. Welcome to Castle Hill Newport, an extraordinary place to dine.

Showcasing breathtaking views of Narragansett Bay in Newport, The Dining Room at Castle Hill Inn offers a fine dining experience.

While the inn doesn't technically sit in a castle, the Agassiz Mansion will certainly make you feel like royalty.

The Dining Room of the Castle Hill Restaurant garners glowing reviews for the entire experience -- the food, the service, the ambiance, and the water views. However, you really have to try it for yourself.

Earning a four-star rating from Forbes, this enchanting restaurant offers a six-course tasting menu during dinner service.

You'll have the opportunity to choose from several dishes for each course. You may start off, for example, with such decadent options as oysters or caviar.

Each course promises something even more delightful than the last -- pan roasted and Spanish turbot may be among your options.

With the assistance of a "service captain," all guests at the table will, together, make the decision of what to try for each course. The entire table will then enjoy the same dishes, and a three-ounce wine pairing will accompany each course.

The meal caps off with a decadent dessert, such as the pumpkin torte or the chocolate Bavarian.

While The Dining Room at Castle Hill Inn offers an exquisite dining experience, I happen to enjoy dining on The Lawn Terrace in the summer.

Serving seasonal cuisine that reminds me of summer, it's the best place in Newport to view the Newport Bridge and watch the sailboats go by.

The last time I was there, they had mason jars filled with fresh-baked cookies so naturally we had to try. This was such a wonderful and memorable dining experience between the views, the food, and the sangria!
