Bring Your Favorite Wine To Rhode Island’s Cafe Vino And Toast To Tasty Italian Cuisine

For a small state, Rhode Island has a large number of Italian restaurants, and for that we are thankful. But if you prefer a quiet hidden gem to a large, popular eatery that’s always packed, take a chance on Cafe Vino in Johnston. Not only is the food fantastic, but you can bring in your favorite wine to enjoy with it.

Owned and operated by Chef Rick Melise, who opened the eatery with his partner, Carson, this charming little place is big on flavor.
Step inside and you'll find a delightful little bistro with just enough space for a cozy, intimate meal.

And although this is a great date night spot, the vibe here is very casual and comfortable -- there's no need to dress to impress (although you're certainly welcome to do so).
Every last employee at this restaurant was born and raised in Rhody, which is really saying something.

Clearly, they have great taste in more than just food.
The menu is simple and straightforward in the best way, consisting mainly of Italian inspired classics.

The Chicken Parmigianna is the stuff dreams are made of.
Carnivores in particular tend to love this place, as there is always plenty of chicken, steak, and seafood on the menu.

The Bistecca, the chef's choice of steak, changes daily (and never disappoints).
This restaurant is BYOB, meaning you can bring in a bottle of fancy wine and not pay the elevated restaurant prices. The corking fee here is a mere $1 per table.

But this poses quite a dilemma. Would you rather bring in a bottle of wine meant to be enjoyed with a particular entree, or just bring a bottle you love and choose your dinner based on the potential pairing?
Cafe Vino is currently open from Tuesday - Saturday at 5 p.m. for both dine-in and takeout meals.

They close at 9 p.m. Tuesday - Thursday and stay open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
