Spending time among nature promises the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature, to relax, and to tune out the noise of every day life. Fortunately, we have no shortage of natural settings that dot the state. Climbers Run Nature Preserve in Pennsylvania, for example, offers an idyllic setting for a picturesque hike, a relaxing picnic, and the chance to spend time outdoors.
Climbers Run Nature Preserve in Pequea, which stretches just over 80 acres, promises an ideal way to spend an afternoon or an entire day.
The nature preserve features three main hiking trails that total two miles. For a picturesque trail where you'll cross a flowing creek, follow the blue trail markers of Climbers Run Trail.
Your shoes and legs will get wet when you cross the creek, but that's a small price to pay for the beauty you'll see. You can even climb on some of the rocks along the way, an especially popular activity with the kiddos.
Just take care as the rocks near the water can be especially slippery. If you're up for a bit more hiking, follow Climbers Hollow Trail, too.
Marked in white, the trail boasts several waterfalls as you trek through a lush, forested section of the nature preserve.
Keep an eye out for educational markers along the way, so you can learn a little bit about the plants in the preserve.
Don't forget to bring a picnic along, too, a fun way to relax and enjoy the natural setting.
Save time after your hike to visit the two-acre Natural Playground. Both kids and adults are encouraged to climb logs, play with the branches and twigs, and stroll over a picturesque footbridge.
