Philadelphia promises perfect spots to admire the cherry blossoms in Pennsylvania this spring.
But, there's perhaps no better way to celebrate the cherry blossom season than by visiting the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia. Events are hosted throughout the city.
By 2007, the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia had planted approximately 1,000 more trees in Fairmount Park. Then, the organization focused on planting more trees throughout area parks.
Today, Fairmount Park, including Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, one of the premier spots to view the cherry blossoms, plays a significant role in the festival.
Although the cherry blossoms are the highlight of the festival, the Cherry Blossom Festival also celebrates Japanese culture. Watch live musical and dance performances at the stage framed by cherry blossoms at Fairmount Park.
The festival comes to an epic end on April 15 at the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park on Sukura Sunday. The event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will feature live entertainment, a fashion show, and a cosplay area. Bring your beloved pets, all dressed up, to join the Prettiest Pet in Pink Parade.
