Looking for a short and sweet trail that makes you feel like you’re gong on an adventure? Mill Creek Falls  is a moderately trafficked trail offering some of the prettiest scenery outside of a fairy tale.

Located 1.4 miles outside of the tiny town of Prospect, Oregon at the Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint, Mill Creek Falls is a pleasant 45-minute drive from Medford that will take you past the gorgeous, rolling Rogue River.

This easy out and back trail is a lovely adventurous short hike for all experience levels.
From the moment you enter the tree lined path it will be reminiscent of a children's fairy story. You won't find a candy house at the end of this trail, but as you continue to follow the sound of the roaring creek, it will lead to the sight of a gorgeous waterfall.

Depending on which trail you choose, you will be able to see the 173 foot Mill Creek Falls or a 1/4 mile away, you can visit the 240-ft. double Barr Creek Falls.

A few rocky ledges over the creek enable you to get an even closer view. Make sure you have a little more experience and steady shoes before attempting to walk onto these ledges. While the surface is firm, exercise caution.

During the 1920s, one of the first hydroelectric dams was created by Boise Cascade. The trail created leads you directly to the plaque with details about that dam. You will also find the friendly giants at the Avenue of Giant Boulders.

These large moss covered rocks are the perfect resting spot. Take a breath and enjoy the gorgeous sights and sounds of the creek below.
A steep, unmarked trail takes you right down to the creek, as you walk over rocks to get to the water's edge.

Or just sit down on the rocks and scoot over a little at a time. You'll end up wet and dirty, but it's definitely worth the effort!
