When summer strikes in the PNW, the best course of action is to head outdoors... to the water! Here in Oregon, we love outdoor recreation 24/7/365, and don't let a little (or, okay, a lot) heat and humidity keep us from the trails. Especially if said trails lead to a beautiful, natural swimming pool. In Tillamook State Forest, Keenig Creek is a beautiful, babbling stream that's home to a cerulean-blue natural pool. It's a total hidden gem swimming hole in Oregon, and one of our favorite incentives to hit the trails mid-summer.
Have you ever dreamed of discovering your very own oasis while out on the trails?
Well, you're in luck! Because this is precisely what you'll find at Keenig Creek, a hidden gem swimming hole in Oregon.
You'll find this swimming hole along the Wilson River Trail within the wondrous wilds of the Tillamook State Forest.
And wow, will it take your breath away!
Located along a wide stretch of the Wilson River, the Keenig Creek Area is a sublime little spot to cool off during the summertime heat in Oregon... minus the summertime crowds that often plague other well-known spots.
The riverbank features a prominent rock outcropping with rocky shores and sandy terrain, making it a perfect place for sunbathing, swimming, and fishing.
What really sets this Oregon swimming hole apart from others is the deep, emerald-green hue of its cold waters. Mesmerizing!
Can't pull yourself away from this beautiful hidden oasis? You don't have to! The camping at Keenig Creek is amazing; the campground has 12 walk-in tent sites with tent pads, picnic tables, and fire pits.
Please note that there is a nominal fee for camping at this state forest.
Discover your own slice of paradise at this hidden swimming hole in Oregon. It's bound to become your new favorite summertime spot!
