Take A Magical Waterfall Hike In Oklahoma To Post Oak Falls

Exploring Oklahoma, especially when we're hiking, usually promises plenty of surprises - whether we run into local wildlife or we discover beautiful rock formations. An abundance of natural beauty awaits, for example, on this waterfall hike in Oklahoma. It's definitely one for the bucket list if you're up for the challenge.

Meandering 1.5 miles through Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, Post Oak Falls Trail will take you straight to a beautiful waterfall.

However, you'll be treated to an abundance of natural of beautfy along the way. Just be prepared for somewhat of a challenge along this trail that's been rated moderate.

You'll face a few challenges along the way, including several elevation changes. In some spots, the trail is unmarked, so be prepared for that, too.

Be sure to wear a sturdy pair of hiking boots or shoes, and carry plenty of water and maybe even a few snacks.

You'll definitely want to hike after a rainfall, so you can see the waterfall at its strongest. Dry weather usually means the waterfall doesn't flow.

The waterfall gently tumbles into a small pool. It also provides the perfect backdrop for snapping photos and selfies.

Although it's moderately challenging, the trail more than makes up for its with gorgeous views of rock formations and Treasure Lake.

You might even run into local wildlife along the way, so watch where you walk.

A word of caution. If you're hiking after a rainfall, expect muddy conditions. That, in turn, could result in the hike being even more challenging.
