Either they are tucked away and haven’t been discovered or they get overshadowed by the more popular destinations. One such place that gets overlooked is Osage Hills State Park in Osage County. This gorgeous state park is nestled in eastern Oklahoma and is a prime example of the natural beauty that exists in this state. Osage Hills State Park is located in the heart of the Osage Nation at 2131 Osage Hills Park Road in Pawhuska.
There are many hiking trails for visitors to choose from. The rocky, hilly terrain is great for anyone looking for a challenging hike or you can find easier trails with carved out paths.
And look for the wild turkey or white-tailed deer while on the trails. You'll also spot picnic areas and pavilions if you want to stop for a picnic lunch while exploring the park.
The park was established in 1935 and was one of the seven original state parks in Oklahoma. Not only is it full of natural wonders, but there is so much history in this area. Take a day trip and enjoy everything this park has to offer.
