Everyone in Oklahoma knows May is the month to watch out for tornado outbreaks, but no one expected the intensity of the tornadoes that developed in south-central Oklahoma on May 9, 2016. A violent, long-track elephant trunk tornado ripped through the Katie-Wynnewood area producing an EF4 tornado that left destruction in its wake and one fatality.
