Every September, thousands of people from around the whole world gather at the Okie-Tex Star Party in Black Mesa State Park. Located in the extreme Northwest corner of Oklahoma, this event is known as one of the best star gazing events that never disappoints.
This party started way back in 1984 and is hosted by The Oklahoma City Astronomy Club. This eight-night event is a must for all those who enjoy astronomy.
Black Mesa State Park boasts the highest point in the state at 4,973 feet above sea level. While here star gazing, take full advantage of all the other outdoor activities...including the epic hiking trails.
Black Mesa is one of the most unique areas to visit in Oklahoma because of its dramatic landscape.
