Here Are The 10 Most Dangerous Towns In Oklahoma To Live In
Oklahoma is a great state to live in, but we do have some cities that have higher crime rates than others. We understand these cities are home to many of you, but we want to be informative so everyone can be cautious and aware. We still love these cities because they are home and we get all warm and fuzzy talking about them, they usually just have more people which typically brings more crime. These statistics were taken from Home Security Shield’s rankings of the 10 most dangerous cities in Oklahoma. They not only include the murder rate but violent and property crimes, as well. Here are the 10 most dangerous towns in the Sooner state:

Pryor is home to Google's internet data center and comes in last on our list with a crime rate of 41 per 1,000 residents.

In the past, Wagoner was known as a railway community and named after the railway dispatcher, Henry "Big Foot" Wagoner. It has a crime rate of 56 per 1,000 residents.

Ada, the county seat of Pontotoc County, is the headquarters of the Chickasaw Nation. It has a crime rate of 62 per 1,000 residents.

Although Muskogee ranks 7th overall with a crime rate of 62 per 1,000 residents, it ranks #1 for violent crimes.

As the 5th largest city in the state, Lawton has a crime rate of 62 per 1,000 residents. In 2013, Lawton was also ranked the 8th most dangerous city in the U.S. for women.

Tulsa is the 2nd largest city in Oklahoma and is located in the northeastern portion of the state. It has a crime rate of 62 per 1,000 residents.

Durant is the capital of the Choctaw Nation and is a major part of the Texoma region. It has a crime rate of 64 per 1,000 residents.

Located in Pottawatomie County about 45 minutes east of Oklahoma City, Shawnee has a crime rate of 66 per 1,000 residents.

As the largest city in Oklahoma, it's no surprise OKC ranks 2nd. It has a crime rate of 69 per 1,000 residents.

Known as the hub of south central Oklahoma, Ardmore has a crime rate of 73 per 1,000 residents.
