This City In Oklahoma Was Ranked One Of The Grinchiest Cities In America
Who would have thought Oklahoma would have a city on Santa’s naughty list this year? Oklahoma City was ranked the 9th “Grinchiest” city in America in 2022 by FinanceBuzz due to its lack of holiday spirit and it’s a bit surprising to most of us Oklahomans. Keep scrolling below and we’ll share with you what criteria were used to determine this Grinchy ranking.
The FinanceBuzz team analyzed the 50 largest U.S. cities and ranked them according to over 20 metrics to determine their holiday spirit.
In fact, Oklahoma City ranked the worst on the list for the fewest holiday celebrations of any city in the country, with only 18.5 for every 100,000 citizens.
Oklahoma City does do a great job with the Downtown in December event but when you do look at overall holiday events, we could use some help in this area.
So, what other criteria were looked at besides holiday events and festivals? The FinanceBuzz team looked at the numbers of the following per capita: Christmas tree farms, ice skating rinks, holiday decorations, holiday markets, food banks, donations, and many more.
