There’s only a few restaurants in Oklahoma that have been in business over 90 years, so when you find one that’s been around that long, you know they are doing something right. Savoy Restaurant in Tulsa opened its doors in 1925 serving fresh, homemade food from family recipes. Not only will you find delicious home cooked cuisine, but also some of the best cinnamon rolls in the state.
Check them out:
Savoy Restaurant began in 1925 as Kelamis Cafe but that name didn't last. The owner of Kelamis wanted a new sign made and when he went to order it, the sign shop said they'd give him a bargain for an unclaimed sign named Savoy. So Kelamis was changed to Savoy and the rest is history.
Savoy Restaurant has been at its current location - 6033 South Sheridan, Tulsa - since 1975. They've been serving the community their original, always from scratch recipes, for over four generations.
This unassuming restaurant has expanded and been remodeled over the years, offering diners a cozy and down home feel. But it's not just their cozy atmosphere that keeps patrons coming back year after year.
So, lets talk about these bad boys. Each one weighs a half-pound, is made fresh daily and is the perfect combination of fresh cinnamon and sweet icing.
You can order a box of cinnamon rolls to go or eat them at the restaurant. I mean, there's no better breakfast than fresh cinnamon rolls and coffee, right?
Not to throw you into a sweet frenzy or anything, but they make homemade caramel pecan rolls too. This decadent treat also weighs a half-pound and is smothered with pecans and a hot, buttery caramel sauce. Sweet tooth anyone?
