The Oklahoma Bakery In The Middle Of Nowhere That’s One Of The Best On Earth
If you’re traveling along Route 66, keep an eye out for a small bakery tucked away off to the side in Claremore. It’s located on a small dirt road, with not much around, but it’s one of the best bakeries on earth. Take a look at all the yumminess hiding in this quaint bakery in the middle of nowhere.

This is what you'll be looking for when traveling along Route 66 in northeastern Oklahoma. Keep an eye out for the dirt road turn off, just north of Claremore.
The little bakery is located on the east side of the road and was formerly Ol' Dutchmen Bakery. It was sold a few years ago to a native Sequoyah entrepreneur who now runs it on a daily basis. (It is located at 18435 South Highway 66.)
Pick up a fruit-filled or cream pie, with flavors ranging from blackberry and apple to chocolate and peanut butter. (Pictured below is the German chocolate cream pie.)
And if you love strawberry shortcake (like me!) then you have to try theirs. It's one of the best around, which isn't surprising since all their stuff is incredible.
The goal of the bakery is to make food just like grandmas, and this chicken noodle soup is confirmation. It's made from their smoked chicken and homemade noodles.
Almost every kind of treat can be found at this adorable bakery. Fried pies are also waiting for you and baked just like Grandma's. You can't go wrong with anything at this delicious bakery!
But wait, that’s not all you’ll find at this amazing bakery. They also have a new smokehouse where you can buy pulled pork bologna, bratwurst, brisket, chicken quarters and ribs. Most items are ready, so you can stop in if you’re in a hurry. If you want an item that’s not usually baked on a daily basis, just let them know and they can probably make it. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
If you’re visiting southern Oklahoma, another great bakery to visit is Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies. They have some of the best-fried pies in the state!
