21c Museum Hotel in OKC is a not only a 135-room boutique hotel, but it's a contemporary art museum as well. It is located in a former Ford Motor Company assembly plant at
900 North Main Street in Oklahoma City.
The moment you step inside you'll feel like you're in New York City's Soho neighborhood. Contemporary art is the heart of the hotel and museum and is continuously changing with new exhibits.
The museum is open to the public 365 days a year and is free of charge. Because the exhibits rotate, you'll want to visit often to see what creative art is on currently on display.
The spacious guest rooms feature contemporary furnishings, high ceilings, large steel windows, luxurious bedding, original artwork and more. After a night in one of these luxurious rooms, you'll see why it made T+L's list.
Around the hotel, you'll notice these purple penguins that can be moved around by guests. They are a fan favorite of visitors to 21c and are absolutely adorable.
The hotel's restaurant, Mary Eddy's, is housed in the old Model T showroom of the assembly plant. They serve New American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even if you're not a guest of the hotel, it is an incredible restaurant to try out.
If the weather is nice, check out the outdoor dining space that was once the delivery area for the Model T car kits. It features a full-service bar, two pingpong tables and lots of seating options.
Before leaving, make sure you see the Woozy Blossom - a 16-foot-high perforated tree that produces a constant fog along Main Street. The cool, moist air that flows from this urban art piece is a show stopper and a symbol of the incredible art that awaits visitors inside.
