Fortunately, Ohio is home to several impressive farmers markets where you can purchase produce directly from your local farmers and businesses. The following are some of our favorites in the state. Here are 12 incredible farmers markets in Ohio (listed in no partuclar order) that are a must-visit:
1. West Side Market (Cleveland)
The 95-year-old West Side market is open year-round and features both an inside and outside market. Outside you'll find fresh produce such as tomatoes, corn in season, oranges, lemons, onions, potatoes, fresh flowers and more. The inside market features fresh meats, dairy and bakery items. The West Side Market is located at 1979 W 25th St., Cleveland, OH 44113. Its hours are 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Sundays. (It is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.)
2. 2nd Street Market (Dayton)
This beloved farmers market is open year-round, but thrives in the spring with vibrant flowers and produce. It consists of more than 40 vendors who sell fresh produce, baked goods, artisan gifts and more. The market is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is located at 600 E 2nd St., Dayton, OH 45402.
3. North Market (Columbus)
Also open year-round, this indoor market brings together central Ohio's best vendors to sell locally made prepared foods, fresh meat and fish, produce and flowers, cookware, homemade gifts, baked goods and other special items. 4. Canton Farmers Market (Canton)
This local favorite farmers market will make its yearly debut in downtown Canton on June 18 this year. It will run every Saturday (rain or shine) from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. until October 1. It is located at 305 McKinley Ave. NW Canton, OH 44702.
5. Findlay Market (Cincinnati)
Open year-round, this impressive Cincinnati area farmers market has been in operation since 1852. It is open Tuesday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is located at
