The origins of Grandpa's Cheesebarn date back to the early 1900s, when the famous Grandpa Yarman sold his last possession to buy a wheel of Ohio Swiss cheese.

Shortly after, Yarman's Cheese Shop opened in West Salem, Ohio, and it wasn't long before inventory grew.

Grandpa Yarman began smoking meats such as ham and bacon and word quickly spread about just how top-notch his food products were.

Fast-forward to 1978, and another cheese enthusiast by the name of Grandpa Baum helped carry forward the legacy with the help of Grandpa Yarman's daughter. This was that year that Grandpa's Cheesebarn officially opened its doors.

So what can you expect from a visit to Grandpa's Cheesebarn today? Well, to start, lots and lots of cheeses.

Grandpa's Cheesebarn features an assortment of local cheeses as well as fine imported cheeses. You can also browse the collection of Ohio-made products, such as jams, crackers, and other accountrements.
