Today we're heading down to Medina, Ohio, where the magnificent Corkscrew Saloons is serving up smiles.
This stunning building was originally called The Burnham House when it was built in the 1850s. Nowadays, it is the second-oldest house in the city. Over the years, it has hosted a number of restaurants... but its cozy home-like design is still intact.
The Corkscrew Saloon has called this building home since 2008, and it maintains a dedication to preserving the history of the beautiful building.
Plus, the staff boasts a dedication to customer experience, and they do that by curating creative meals that will tempt your taste buds.
Many ingredients used at Corkscrew Saloon are sourced locally, although the experts in the kitchen are willing to search near and far for high-quality ingredients to make their recipes pop. Their menu focuses on upscale New American cuisine, but there's something on the menu for every type of foodie.
Steaks, seafood, pasta, and other delicious entrees delight diners, but starters like pierogies and baked brie are equally as tempting.
When you're ready to wash such decadence down, you'll be pleased to know that The Corkscrew has a full bar.
Snag an on-tap beer or indulge in the $3 bottled beer special. Prefer cocktails? No worries at all! Your server will help you find the perfect flavor to pair with your meal.
Of course, no meal is complete without a serving of dessert. Ask your server for details about current specials!
If you visit during the warmer months, this stately historic restaurant has an outdoor dining space that's surprisingly beautiful.
The old building is on a corner near the Medina County Fairgrounds, and the area sees a fair amount of traffic. However, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city is a cozy patio surrounded by a lake and well-manicured landscaping. It's quiet and private, and visitors love it.
As you may imagine, this swanky destination does have a dress code: business casual. Not too fancy, but just dressy enough to feel at home in the grand building.
And when we say grand, we mean grand. Fine, delicate details are preserved throughout the saloon, from the careful details of the woodwork to the artistry of the well-placed bricks.
The original lady of the house preferred convenience, a fact that is reflected in the down-to-earth layout of the old mansion. Mason Thomas Gower and carpenter Richard Gibbings smoothed out the vision of the original family, and their contributions are visible to this day.
Oh, and just one more note about the food: the portions are impressive, so plan to fill up during your visit.
