Nothing quite compares to visiting a winery in the cooler months. Cozy, welcoming, and friendly, these pretty places tend to feel even more so when it's cold outside and you're in the midst of a tasting. Many also offer warm comfort foods in addition to their wine list, allowing you to satisfy your tummy with all sorts of treats. The most beautiful wineries are set amidst a scenic landscape, and the most scenic part of Northeast Ohio is undoubtedly Amish Country. While there are a variety of wineries in this area, one stands out from the rest. Are you feeling bubbly yet? You certainly will after you visit this fairy tale destination.
Welcome to Breitenbach Wine Cellars!
Located at 5934 Old Route 39 Northwest in Dover, this wine-colored destination is right in the heart of Amish Country. Its beautiful landscape alone draws in a variety of visitors, and they fall in love as soon as they start sampling wine.
Established in 1980, this gorgeous winery was named for the bright stream that carves through the property.
"Breitenbach" is German and translates to "bright stream" in English. The name really is fitting for this enchanting destination!
Each year, the winery produces 150,000 gallons of wine from over 40 varieties of grape.
These grapes become 40 awesome varieties of wine, offering something for casual wine drinkers and wine connoisseurs alike.
During your visit, you can tour the grounds, sample wines, or just sit and take in the beauty of the surroundings.
Swing by Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each visit is made magical with so much to do.
And you simply must try a wood-fired pizza from their on-site cafe.
The cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as for other special events.
While winter may seem to slow things down, visitors love celebrating events at the winery.
This November, you can't miss An Artful Holiday Affair! on the 9th or Holiday Market at The Toolshed on the 20th. Both are incredible opportunities to shop and stock up for the holidays.
The Winemaker's Barn and The Toolshed are the venues for many events and weddings, and they are almost too quaint and stunning for words.
You can also enjoy live music on the patio from May through October.
Everything at this location is adorable.
