Amber Rose Restaurant in Dayton, Ohio is a true hidden gem in the restaurant world. It's home to an exceptional menu, an interesting history and plenty of charm. If you've yet to eat at this delicious restaurant that specializes in Eastern European cuisine, you're truly missing out.
Welcome to Amber Rose Restaurant, where you'll find exceptional German, Lithuanian, Polish, Hungarian, Russian and Italian cuisine.
It's nestled in the middle of Old North Dayton.
This swanky restaurant dates back to 1910. Formally known as a general store and deli called Sig's, it was transformed in the 1980s into the European Cafe style restaurant it is today.
Fun fact: The Ksiezopolski family owned and operated the general store and lived upstairs. The National Guard even stayed with the family during the Great Flood of 1913, according to the Amber Rose Restaurant website.
On the menu, you'll find tried and true family recipes from Elinor Sluzas. Pictured is the Jäger Schnitzel, which is a popular choice.
It features a breaded veal cutlet on top of spaetzle, covered in a creamy mushroom wine sauce.
If you're stopping in for lunch, we highly recommend their Reuben. It's one of Ohio's best.
You can visit Amber Rose Restaurant on Tuesday - Thursday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., on Friday from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The Warsaw Medley is another great choice. It features a traditional cabbage roll, homemade sausage, the signature Amber Rose sauerkraut and potato-filled pierogies.
