Nestled In The Middle Of A Garden Center, This Tiny Northern California Café Is An Enchanting Day Trip Destination
There’s just something about a visit to a botanical garden. The vibrant hues of the flora, the captivating scents wafting up into the air, and the comfort of being in nature. And that’s exactly what you’ll find at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. But most people don’t know that there is also a wonderful little café there that makes for an enchanting day trip destination.
The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens is located in Fort Bragg, about 7 miles north of downtown Mendocino.
This is a seasonal café that is open daily. You can purchase drinks, snacks, and desserts between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and the main lunch service time is from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
In addition to several standard items, the café also serves up delicious daily specials.
The menu is influenced by the available seasonal produce garnered from the organic demonstration vegetable garden on the Botanical Garden property. Dining is on this inviting outdoor patio and your four-legged friends are welcome to stay as well!
Using only the freshest, high-quality ingredients, the café is popular with vegetarians and vegans.
Dessert items run the gamut as well, including coconut macaroons, fruit cobblers or crisps, and fruit juice popsicles, among others. Beverage options include fresh organic strawberry lemonade, hot, iced, or blended coffees, and fruit smoothies, just to name a few.
Fresh and delicious menu items and a fantastic al fresco setting — it’s no wonder that Rhody’s Garden Café is an enchanting day trip destination.
