These 9 Restaurants In Northern California Don’t Look Like Much… But WOW, They’re Good
Great taste doesn't have to be pricey. Most folks are happiest enjoying a delicious meal in the comfort of a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt, am I right? That's why a restaurant that's a little hard on the eyes never deters most Northern Californians. We compiled a list of some of our favorite restaurants that may not always look like much but their food is out of this world!
1. Taste, 9402 Main Street, Plymouth
Pork loin has never looked so lovely. The quaint town of Plymouth is easy to overlook when passing through, so make a point to stop on Main Street and enjoy a delectable meal with small town charm and a whole lot of class.
2. Brick & Fire Bistro, 1630 F Street, Eureka
What's this group of deliciousness you ask? Wild mushroom cobbler, calamari and Basil Oregano Parmesan Crust w/brie, red grapes and pork belly..
3. Casa Lupe, 2165 Winchester Blvd., Campbell
With hundreds of reviews online, one diner said it perfectly:
"Enchiladas suizas = AMAZING Cadillac margaritas = AMAZING Great family run restaurant, good place to take children."
4. Cafe Nooner, 409 Opera Alley, Eureka
Pulled pork po' boy or maybe their mushroom flatbread? They both sound yummy. Feta fries anyone?
5. Park Place, 50 3rd Street, Lakeport
There's a lot of yummy items on their menu here. I personally would love to try their seafood pasta. But, this apple almond crisp with vanilla ice cream is calling my name at the moment.
6. Folie Douce, 1551 G St
Arcata
Editor's Note: As of January 2021, Folie Douce is permanently closed. This rack of lamb is apparently moist and unforgettable. Their Roquefort steak is pretty famous in these parts. If you're looking for a delicous and pretty elegant place to take someone for a special night, this is the place.
7. Damburger, 1320 Placer Street, Redding
A double dam bacon cheeseburger. It's a thing around these parts. It's been a fixture in the area for generations. They're doing something very right here.
8. East West Cafe & Restaurant, 557 Summerfield Rd Santa Rosa
Gluten free huevos rancheros. This cafe is known for even more than this. Definitely a Mediterranean spot you need to come and check out very soon. You'll be glad you did.
9. Perry's Deli, 7380 Redwood Blvd
Novato
Editor's Note: As of January 2021, Perry's Deli is permanently closed.
This is what we call a turkey on a soft roll. This deli is infamous around here. There's more meats than you can count and cheeses and rolls here are dizzying. Step into a subway on steroids. You'll love it.
What I love most about Northern Californians is that you're all so incredibly opinionated when it comes to your favorite places to grab a bite. Have we overlooked one of your fav spots? Let us know on Facebook.
