1. Sickies Garage - Fargo, Bismarck
Sickies Garage is themed inside and out like it is an old garage. From the oil drum entrance to the auto news articles on the tables, it really creates a unique and fun dining atmosphere. That's not its wackiest characteristic, however. Sickies Garage is also known for having bizarre yet totally delicious burgers. Their slogan is "50 burgers, 50 brews," and that isn't an exaggeration. There are seemingly endless burgers on their menu with all sorts of toppings. You could have a tater tot hotdish burger, shown above, or even a burger with donuts for buns. They also have 50 different types of beer on tap to go with their scrumptious meals.
Sickies Garage has two locations in North Dakota, one in Fargo and one in Bismarck. The Fargo location is at 3431 Fiechtner Dr. S, and the Bismarck location is at 3130 N 14th St.
2. The Wood House - Bismarck
The Wood House is the only restaurant in North Dakota where you order your food from your table with a phone. Every booth has its own phone and you call directly in to the kitchen to place your order. The Wood House is famous not only for the phones but also for their fantastic, classic burgers and other typical American diner fare.

3. The Fabulous Kegs Drive-In - Grand Forks
This historic restaurant has been around for decades and has been turning heads for just as long. The huge "root beer" kegs flanking either side of the small establishment are definitely a sight to see. This is a classic drive-in - no indoor seating - where you just pull up your car, park, and order right there. The Kegs are known for their delicious sloppy joe sandwiches. Pair one with onion rings and root beer and you've got yourself one tasty meal.

4. Space Aliens - Bismarck, Fargo
Head out of this world - or to their locations in Fargo and Bismarck - for a galactic meal at Space Aliens. This place is all types of fun and wacky with space-related theming on every square inch of the restaurant. They have an arcade for hours of fun, too. Space Aliens isn't just flash and no substance; they have award-winning BBQ and plenty of other awesome food on their menu. Their first location was in Bismarck and they have since expanded to Fargo, as well.

5. The Toasted Frog - Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck
The Toasted Frog's name already likely grabs your attention. With three locations, one in Fargo, another in Bismarck, and the original in Grand Forks, you can grab a plate of actual frog legs - yes, frog legs - among other yummy dishes. Their fried pickles, shown above, are especially popular.

6. Vinyl Taco - Fargo, Grand Forks
Enjoy tacos with some tunes at Vinyl Taco in North Dakota. They play actual vinyl records throughout the day so you can enjoy some of their truly tasty tacos and other quirky Mexican street food. The inside is music themed as an added touch of fun.

This is part of the Medora Musical experience and is well worth it. They are open in the summer where you'll be sitting outdoors on a terrace overlooking the gorgeous badlands. They really do put these steaks on pitchforks to cook them, and they're delicious. The food is served up cowboy-style on trays with all the fixings on the side. It's definitely a one of a kind experience!
