October is finally here and for many people that means it's time to get their spook on! Even though we have to wait until the end of the month for Halloween yet, there is still plenty of opportunities to get into that spooky spirit. One of the funnest things you can do with either friends, family, or both, is visit a haunted house. These 5 creepy yet delightful haunted houses in North Dakota will terrify you in the best way. Visit them before they're gone!
1. Haunted Fort - Mandan
Are you prepared to be scared? North Dakota's "legendary fear event" is coming back to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in Mandan, North Dakota. This fort is already steeped in history with buildings such as Custer's house and the fort itself available to visit throughout the year. But once October comes around, it turns into a fear fest known as the Haunted Fort that you don't want to miss. They are also doing a Zombie Battlefield where you can experience a zombie invasion and try to stay alive with paintballs. It's spooky, fun, and exhilarating all in one!

2. Legends Of Terror Haunted House - Grand Forks
Immerse yourself into the creepy Legends Of Terror, put on by the Grand Forks Historical Society, on October 19th and 20th this year. On these nights you'll be scared out of your socks as you walk through the historic buildings. You never know what might jump out at you! Admission is only $10 a person and there's only two nights to experience it, so get in while you can.

3. Dark Acres - Williston
During the day, Dark Acres is a delightful party store for all your Halloween costume and decorating needs of the season - but at night on October 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th, it turns into something truly horrifying. You might only want to do this if you're brave enough, because it'll scare the living daylight out of you! Despite that, you'll still have a blast experiencing the Haunt at Dark Acres.

4. Acres of Terror - Leonard
This is one of the most popular haunted houses to visit in North Dakota, and when you experience it you'll understand why. You'll take a scary ride between each haunted attraction on an old school bus driven by a werewolf. Prepare to be chased, jumped out at, and totally creeped out in the most thrilling of ways. It's open Friday and Saturday nights throughout October, and you don't want to miss it.

5. The Crypt at Jacobs Manor - Leonard
Leonard might just be the most scary town in North Dakota with two haunted attractions! The Crypt at Jacobs Manor is a spooktacular haunted house that is entirely for charity. It happens every year on the last two Friday and Saturdays in October. Instead of an admission fee, you can get in by bringing non-perishable foods for the Fargo Womens & Childrens Shelter. Not only will you be able to enjoy a scary night out, but you'll be helping others. Does it get any better?
