This Is The Most Unique Hotel In North Dakota And You’ll Definitely Want To Stay Here
Way out in a tiny little town in Dickey County, North Dakota, there is a hotel that has a history that could fill books. It looks charming from the outside, and if the walls inside could speak they would have plenty to say. This unique hotel is well over a century old and is as beautiful to look at as it is delightful to stay at. But it’s the history that really makes this place so special. Take a trip out to this historic spot and see why:

Fullerton is a small town in Dickey County the southeast region of the state. It was founded in 1888.

The Carroll House was built in 1889, making it as old as this state has been, well, a state! It actually predates North Dakota's statehood by a few months. Another thing that makes this place so unique is that it is also one of few preserved shingle-style architectural buildings here in ND.

During that year, rooms at the hotel were in such high demand that they renovated their third story ballroom (yes, they had a ballroom on the third floor instead of the ground floor) into more rooms.

Besides being a delightful hotel, it has also had parts of it used as a beauty parlor, cream station, restaurant, and even had a lumber business running out of it. In 1969 it was purchased and became the hunting lodge of two men who later sold it to the Fullerton Community Betterment Association for only one dollar. That was with the condition that the association preserve and upkeep this historic building. It was officially listed as a national historic landmark in 1994.

The Carroll House is open for reservations anytime, and you can find more info and make your reservations at this site.
It is located at 19 N Monroe St, Fullerton, ND 58441.
