The Nostalgic Hot Dog Joint In North Carolina That Will Take You Back In Time
Recently, we directed your attention (and appetite) over to Chapel Hill to an eatery that serves up the best burgers around, but man (woman and child) cannot live on burgers alone. We need our hot dog cravings tended to on a regular basis. No place in North Carolina gets the kind of accolades this unassuming restaurant in Raleigh brings in. Check it out.

For 78 years this little hot dog joint has been serving nothing but hotdogs and Coke. (Okay, they also have some Greek desserts that are out of this world, but that's all.)

The simple menu, down-home atmosphere and delicious (ketchup-free) dogs are what keep people coming back again and again to the no-frills hot doggery (we just made that word up) — and once you try this place, it's what will keep you coming back too.

Whatever you call the restaurant doesn't really matter, as long as you get over here to satisfy your craving for a dog that scores of people, including our Senators, Congressmen and Governors, have eaten for decades in the Capital City.

The Roast Grill (Hot Weiner) restaurant can be found at 7 S West St., Raleigh, NC 27603. It’s open 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. six days a week (Monday through Saturday), and closed on Sunday. Learn more on the official website, and see more delicious photos of those mouthwatering hot dogs here on their Facebook page.
