All over the state there are countless opportunities to partake in the delicious unofficial state meat and most connoisseurs are adventurous enough to try to them all, especially the establishments located on less traveled roads like the one below.
To get there from the Blue Ridge Parkway, just take the Altapass Highway at McKinney Gap. The address for Tin Shed is 2598 Altapass Hwy., Spruce Pine, NC 28777. Please note: The Shed has limited hours during the off season. The website currently shows hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On the first weekend in May, the hours will change to 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
