This Hidden Trail In North Carolina Leads You To A Geologic Beach Wonder
The hidden wonders in North Carolina never cease to amaze. From the seven natural wonders we published in this previous article, to this (eighth?) wonder found only in this one spot along the North Carolina coast, it’s always a delightful surprise to discover something new about your home state.
Fort Fisher is located at 1610 South Fort Fisher Blvd., Kure Beach, NC 28449. The Rock Wall parking area is located just past the fort, and next to the Fort Fisher Monument located on Battle Acre Road. The coquina outcropping on Kure is only visible at low tide. You’ll want to check the tide charts for Wilmington before heading out on this adventure. Find out more at this link.
While you’re in Wilmington, give your sweet tooth a sweet treat at Boombalatti’s Ice Cream. They have 26 delicious homemade flavors to choose from!
